Starting at 61°F, heat will be a factor from the gun — go out conservative and stay on top of hydration. Temperatures rising to 75°F through the course will gradually increase perceived effort in the second half. Light winds shouldn't be a major factor for pacing. Moderate humidity at 75% is worth noting for effort level, especially in later miles.

Race Info
The Taiyuan Half Marathon covers 21.0975 kilometers through the center of Shanxi's provincial capital. It starts at Wuyi Square, runs west along Yingze Street and across Yingze Bridge, then follows Binhe West Road beside the Fen River to a turnaround near the entrance of Xiaodongliu Park. The finish is on Changxing North Street, outside the south gate of the Jinyang Lake International Convention Center. The half shares its start line and opening road with the marathon, and the course sits at roughly 800 meters elevation.
