Chongqing Marathon
Race Day Weather
Cool start — fast day potential
A cool 40°F at the start line is ideal for fast times — expect to warm up quickly once you're moving. Temperatures rising to 48°F through the course will gradually increase perceived effort in the second half. Moderate humidity at 76% is worth noting for effort level, especially in later miles.

Race Info
The Chongqing Marathon starts and finishes at Haitang Yanyu Park on Nanbin Road in Chongqing's Nan'an District. The full marathon course crosses the Yangtze River twice, running out toward Chaotianmen Bridge before a longer leg south across the Yangtze River Bridge to a turnaround near Lijiatuo Bridge. First run in 2008 as a local Nanbin Road race, it became a national-level event in 2011 and now holds World Athletics Gold Label status. The race moved from its long-standing March date to mid-January starting with the 2026 edition, held for cooler race-day conditions.
