We care about privacy just as much as the next human. We respect that your data is yours and important to you, so this is how it’s handled by racecast.io.

  • Basic account information: An email address and password or phone number to create your account.
  • Public profile information: Whatever you choose to include in your public profile.
  • Payment and contact information: If you purchase a Premium Race Plan, payments are handled by Dodo Payments. We receive your email address and name but do not store credit card or bank account details on our servers.
  • Premium account information: Email, name, purchase history, and race-specific preferences you provide (goal time, pace strategy, body weight, fuel brand, dietary preferences, caffeine preference). This information is used to personalize your premium race content.
  • Content information: Race reports, comments, and any media or files you upload.
  • Communications with us: Survey responses, support questions, forum posts, and newsletter signups.

Information We Collect Automatically

  • Log information: Browser type, IP address, device identifiers, language preference, referring site, date/time of access, and operating system.
  • Usage information: Page views, actions performed, and device information (screen size, cellular network, manufacturer).
  • Location information: Approximate location from your IP address for geographic analytics.
  • Cookies & technologies: Racecast.io uses cookies for session authentication and unit preference storage. We also use pixel tags for email campaign tracking.

Information from Other Sources

  • Third Party Login: If you log in through another service (like Google), we receive associated login information (token, username, email).
  • Social Sharing Services: If you connect your account to a social media service, we receive information via their authorization procedures.

How and Why We Use Information

  • To provide our Services. Account setup, subscriptions, customer service, payments, and user verification.
  • To ensure quality, maintain safety, and improve our Services. Monitoring, analyzing usage, and developing new features.
  • To market our Services and measure marketing effectiveness. Personalized promoted content is handled by racecast.io and not shared with third-party advertisers.
  • To protect our Services, our users, and the public. Detecting security incidents, fighting spam, and complying with legal obligations.
  • To fix problems by monitoring, debugging, repairing, and preventing issues.
  • To customize the user experience. Personalized notifications, race recommendations, and content suggestions.

Sharing Information

We share information about you in limited circumstances, with appropriate safeguards on your privacy. This is not exchanged for monetary compensation.

  • Subsidiaries and independent contractors who help us provide our Services, bound by this Privacy Policy.
  • Third-party vendors including: Dodo Payments (payment processing), Cloudflare (hosting and edge computing), Resend (transactional email), Visual Crossing and Open-Meteo (weather data), OpenAI (AI-generated weather narratives), Plausible and New Relic (analytics & monitoring), and Expo / SignalWire (push notifications & SMS).
  • Legal and regulatory requirements: In response to subpoenas, court orders, or governmental requests.
  • To protect rights, property, and others when disclosure is reasonably necessary.
  • Business transfers: In connection with any merger, sale, or acquisition. This Privacy Policy would continue to apply.
  • With your consent or at your direction.

Information Shared Publicly

Information you choose to make public — your profile, posts, comments, and “Likes” — is disclosed publicly and may be indexed by search engines. Please keep this in mind when deciding what to share.

How Long We Keep Information

We generally discard information about you when it’s no longer needed for the purposes for which we collect and use it, and we’re not legally required to keep it. Deleted content may be retained briefly in case you change your mind. This data may be purged at any time.

Security

While no online service is 100% secure, we work very hard to protect information about you against unauthorized access, use, alteration, or destruction, and take reasonable measures to do so. We monitor our Services for potential vulnerabilities and attacks.

Choices

  • Limit the information that you provide. Optional account information is not required.

  • Set your browser to reject cookies. Racecast.io uses cookies for premium session authentication, unit preferences, We do not respond to “do not track” signals.
  • Close your account by emailing [email protected]. We may retain some information after closing as described above.

Analytics: Third-party analytics providers may set tracking technologies to collect information about your use of our Services. This Privacy Policy only covers collection by Racecast.io.

Third-Party Software: Interacting with third-party plugins or embeds (such as Strava) may mean providing information to those third parties. Their own privacy policies apply.
