Staunton Rocks! Half Marathon
Race Day Weather
Warm start, warming through the race, rain likely
Starting at 65°F, heat will be a factor from the gun — go out conservative and stay on top of hydration. Temperatures rising to 77°F through the course will gradually increase perceived effort in the second half. Light winds shouldn't be a major factor for pacing. Rain is likely — waterproof your phone and bib, and consider a disposable poncho for the corral.

Race Info
The Staunton Rocks! Half Marathon covers 13.1 miles of mostly singletrack in Staunton State Park near Pine, Colorado, with about 2,200 feet of climbing between roughly 8,200 and 9,500 feet. The course starts at the Ranch Hand Group Picnic Area, climbs the Mason Creek Trail and the Bear Paw Loop to the historic Old Mill, then follows the Border Line, Marmot Passage and Scout Line trails to the Staunton Rocks junction. The last miles climb the Staunton Rocks Trail and a climbing access trail past the granite formations, then descend the Staunton Rocks and Dines Meadow trails to the finish back at Ranch Hand. It is the shorter of the two distances on the Saturday of race weekend and shares its trails with the marathon.
