Race Info
The Silverton Alpine 8 Miler is an out-and-back on the Alpine Loop jeep road, starting and finishing at Memorial Park in Silverton, Colorado. Runners follow the road up the Animas River valley to the old mining town of Howardsville and return the same way. It stays near 9,300 to 9,700 feet and is the gentlest of the weekend's three distances, a short taste of the terrain the longer races cover. It runs on the Saturday of race weekend, the day before the Kendall Mountain Run.
