Silverton Alpine 50K
Race Day Weather
Cool start — fast day potential, big temp swing
A cool 50°F at the start line is ideal for fast times — expect to warm up quickly once you're moving. Temps will climb significantly to 73°F by later miles, so expect fading conditions as the race progresses. Light winds shouldn't be a major factor for pacing.

Race Info
The Silverton Alpine 50K starts and finishes at Memorial Park in Silverton, Colorado, and runs a loop on the Alpine Loop jeep roads in the San Juan Mountains. The route passes the ghost mining towns of Howardsville, Eureka, Animas Forks and Gladstone and tops out at California Pass, above 12,900 feet. It is the longest race of the weekend and adds an opening section through Niagara Gulch to the marathon course, and the road is open to off-highway vehicles, so dust is common. The race runs on the Saturday of race weekend, the day before the Kendall Mountain Run.
