The Retro Run 5K
Race Day Weather
Warm start, warming through the race, high humidity
A warm 71°F start means heat management is critical — consider dialing back your goal pace by 10-20 sec/mi. Temperatures rising to 83°F through the course will gradually increase perceived effort in the second half. High humidity (82%) will make it harder to cool down through sweat — increase fluid intake accordingly.

Race Info
The 5K is a single out-and-back along the paved beach path at Alamitos Beach in Long Beach, starting and finishing at the same spot. The flat course never leaves the beach path and stays open to other users, so runners keep to the pedestrian side. Turns are marked with chalk, a sign and a flag.
