North Country Trail 50M
Race Day Weather
Comfortable temps, moderate wind, rain likely
Starting at 63°F, heat will be a factor from the gun — go out conservative and stay on top of hydration. Moderate winds around 17mph may affect pacing on open sections of the course. Rain is likely — waterproof your phone and bib, and consider a disposable poncho for the corral. Moderate humidity at 79% is worth noting for effort level, especially in later miles.

Race Info
The 50 Mile is two laps of the North Country Trail Run's single-track loop through the Manistee National Forest near Wellston, Michigan, and it is run on the Saturday of race weekend. The trail rolls through pines and sandy sections before the first big climb near mile 4, then climbs steadily after each aid station through the middle miles. The loop takes in an overlook hill with a long view over the forest before dropping back to the start and finish area, and the second lap covers the same hills with about 7,000 feet of climbing over the full distance.
