Race Info
The New Taipei City Wan Jin Shi Marathon runs along the North Coast Highway (Provincial Highway No. 2) through the Wanli, Jinshan and Shimen districts of New Taipei City, Taiwan, the coastal route that gives the race its name. The marathon starts and finishes near the Green Bay area of Wanli District and has been held annually in mid-March since 2003, tracing back to a Jinshan-area marathon first run in 1979. It became Taiwan's first World Athletics Bronze Label marathon in 2015, reached Silver Label status in 2018, and was upgraded to Gold Label in 2023, becoming Taiwan's first Gold Label road race (the Taipei Marathon became the country's second in January 2024). Kenya's Cyrus Kipkemboi Mutai holds the men's course record at 2:09:31 (2024) and Ethiopia's Mulu Gadise holds the women's course record at 2:29:14 (2025).
