About the Moab Trail Half Marathon
The Moab Trail Half Marathon follows the first nine miles of the marathon course, up Pritchett Canyon and along the Hunter Canyon Rim above Kane Creek Road, with views of the La Sal Mountains and Behind the Rocks Wilderness. It then drops through Gatherer Canyon, climbs the Kane Creek Road switchbacks and runs the Hymasa Trail down into the Kane Creek drainage, where the creek bed can be damp sand or ankle-to-knee-deep water. The last miles pass the Amasa Back parking area, a short stretch of dirt road and singletrack with two creek crossings to the finish at the Kane Creek Recreation Parking Area. It is held on the Saturday of race weekend.
