Race Info

The Maratona di San Valentino runs through Terni, Umbria, each February around the feast of the city's patron saint, Valentine. The course leaves central Terni, climbs briefly past the Basilica di San Valentino, then descends into the Valnerina valley toward the Cascata delle Marmore waterfall; the half marathon turns back at Torre Orsina while the full marathon continues on to Ferentillo before returning to Terni. Amatori Podistica Terni, a running club founded in 1976, has organized the race since its first edition in 2011; the 2021 edition was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Finishers receive a heart-shaped medal made by a local Terni art school.
