Race Info

The Rome Marathon starts on Via dei Fori Imperiali beside the Colosseum and finishes inside the Circo Massimo. The 42.195 km route passes the Piazza Venezia, Castel Sant'Angelo and St. Peter's Basilica, crosses the Tiber at Ponte Milvio, and returns through Piazza del Popolo, Piazza di Spagna and Piazza Navona. Parts of the course run over cobblestones. It has a FIDAL Gold Label, and the 2026 edition drew a record 36,000 marathon entries.
