Makoa Half Marathon
Race Day Weather
Warm conditions, headwinds early
Runners will face a steady temperature of 77°F throughout the race, with humidity at 75% making it feel warmer. Wind will start as a headwind in miles 1-2, which could challenge pacing, before shifting to tailwind in mile 3. Given the heat and humidity, runners should consider starting conservatively and adjusting their pace, especially in the early miles.

Race Info
The Makoa 5K, 10K and Half Marathon runs each November at Wai Kai, a waterfront recreation facility on Ewa Beach's West O'ahu shoreline. The course starts at Wai Kai and follows Keone'ula Boulevard before turning onto Papipi Road for a flat run along the coast. "Makoa" is a Hawaiian name meaning brave or fearless. The race is one of six annual events organized by Aloha Racing across O'ahu and has run since 2023.
