Race Info
The Kauai Marathon and Half Marathon starts and finishes in Poipu, a resort community on Kauai's south shore. The marathon and half marathon share their first 11 miles before the half loops back through Kukui'ula Resort, while the full marathon continues past Lawai and climbs toward Kalaheo before descending back to Poipu. The route passes a stretch of century-old trees known as the Tunnel of Trees and coastal viewpoints above the Pacific. The race is USATF certified. The sold-out 2026 edition was cancelled on September 5, the day before race day, when Hurricane Lowell approached the island; organizers have scheduled the next race for Sunday, September 5, 2027.
