Leadville Trail Marathon & Heavy Heavy Half Marathon
Race Day Weather
Comfortable temps, chance of rain
Starting at 62°F, heat will be a factor from the gun — go out conservative and stay on top of hydration. Temperatures rising to 71°F through the course will gradually increase perceived effort in the second half. Light winds shouldn't be a major factor for pacing. There's a chance of rain, so have a backup gear plan ready.

Race Info
The Heavy Half Marathon covers about 15 miles of old mining roads and trails on the east side of Leadville, Colorado. It follows the marathon route without the Ball Mountain section and climbs to Mosquito Pass at 13,185 feet, the highest continuous pass in the country. Runners go up and back down the same path, so the course is a steady climb followed by a long descent. It runs on the Saturday of race weekend, and snow can still sit on the upper course in late June.
