A warm 77°F start means heat management is critical — consider dialing back your goal pace by 10-20 sec/mi. Temperatures rising to 88°F through the course will gradually increase perceived effort in the second half. Light winds shouldn't be a major factor for pacing. There's a chance of rain, so have a backup gear plan ready. High humidity (84%) will make it harder to cool down through sweat — increase fluid intake accordingly.

Race Info
The UWI SPEC International Half Marathon starts and finishes at the University of the West Indies' Sport and Physical Education Centre (SPEC) in St. Augustine, Trinidad and Tobago. The out-and-back course follows the traffic-free Priority Bus Route north to La Resource Junction in D'Abadie before returning to SPEC, while the accompanying 5K turns around near the CARIRI Building in Tunapuna. First run in 2004 with about 300 participants, the race has grown to more than 2,000 finishers and is certified by NAAATT and World Athletics. Each edition has recently supported a different health-awareness cause, including dyslexia in 2024 and Alzheimer's in 2025.
