Race Info
The University of Charleston Marathon is a marathon, half marathon and 5K held each April in Charleston, West Virginia. The USATF-certified marathon course (WV25002MS) is a Boston Marathon qualifier, starting on Capitol Street near the University of Charleston's downtown campus and finishing at Slack Plaza. The route crosses the Kanawha River twice, passing the West Virginia State Capitol and looping through the university's riverfront campus and the Kanawha City neighborhood. The inaugural 2026 race drew 785 runners across its marathon, half marathon and 5K events, with finishers from 40 states and three countries.
