Triple Lakes Trail Race 40 Mile
Race Day Weather
Cool start — fast day potential, big temp swing
A cool 40°F at the start line is ideal for fast times — expect to warm up quickly once you're moving. Temps will climb significantly to 60°F by later miles, so expect fading conditions as the race progresses. Light winds shouldn't be a major factor for pacing. Moderate humidity at 67% is worth noting for effort level, especially in later miles.

Race Info
The 40 Mile is the longest distance of the Triple Lakes Trail Race and starts and finishes at Bur-Mil Park in Greensboro. It follows the marathon route through the Owls Roost, Palmetto, Nat Greene, Laurel Bluff and Reedy Fork trails, then adds a stretch across Church Street on the Crockett, Osprey and Townsend trails with a turnaround on the Townsend Trail past Yanceyville Road. The loop back runs the Nat Greene and Palmetto trails to a final lap of Owls Roost before the finish near the park pavilion. The course is mostly single-track trail through the Greensboro watershed lands.
