The Hungerford Games 15 Mile is the shortest distance of the weekend, a 5K out of Big Rapids into the Manistee National Forest, one 8.8-mile loop, and back the way it came. The route covers dirt trail, fire road and two-track in the Hungerford Recreation Area, with the Powerlines hills among its landmarks. It is held on the last Saturday of September, and the course is more than 85 percent off pavement.
