Race Info
The Shizuoka Marathon starts at Shizuoka City Hall and finishes at the east exit of JR Shimizu Station, crossing a mostly flat, Japan Association of Athletics Federations-certified course past Sengen Shrine, Sunpu Castle Park and the Abe River before reaching the coast at Suruga Bay. The men's course record is 2:11:40, set in 2017; the women's record is 2:38:24, set in 2015. It is a Boston Marathon qualifier and counts toward the Abbott World Marathon Majors Age Group Ranking. The race is held in early March and includes a companion Fun Run alongside shorter wheelchair and parent-child events.
