Race Info
The Beppu-Oita Mainichi Marathon has been held since 1952 and is one of Japan's oldest marathons. It is grouped with the Lake Biwa and Fukuoka marathons as one of Japan's three "Classic Races." The course starts near the Umitamago aquarium at the base of Takasaki-yama in Oita City, turns around at Kamegawa Fishing Port in Beppu, and finishes at J-Reese Stadium in Oita. The race carries World Athletics Elite Label status and requires a marathon qualifying time of 3 hours 30 minutes or faster to enter.
