A cool 50°F at the start line is ideal for fast times — expect to warm up quickly once you're moving. Temperatures rising to 64°F through the course will gradually increase perceived effort in the second half. Light winds shouldn't be a major factor for pacing. Moderate humidity at 68% is worth noting for effort level, especially in later miles.

Race Info
Run the Cove Half Marathon & 10K is held each spring in Owens Cross Roads, Alabama, in the Hampton Cove area near Huntsville. The half marathon starts at Hampton Cove Elementary School and runs through the Hays Nature Preserve and Flint River greenways, passing the RTJ Golf Trail's River Course before returning through Hampton Cove's lakeside neighborhoods to the finish. The race debuted in March 2025 with roughly 300 runners.
