About the REVEL Big Cottonwood Half Marathon
The Big Cottonwood Half Marathon is a point-to-point downhill course that starts just below the Mill D parking area in Big Cottonwood Canyon. Runners follow Big Cottonwood Creek between the canyon cliffs for nearly 10 miles, then pass under Wasatch Boulevard and run through Cottonwood Heights and the Old Mill Corporate Center. The course enters Holladay through Knudsen Park, turns onto Big Cottonwood Road, and follows Van Winkle Expressway and 5600 South to the finish at Cottonwood High School in Murray. It is a USATF-certified course run on the second Saturday of September, and its steady descent makes it one of the faster half marathons in Utah.
