Prince of Wales Alaska Half Marathon
Race Day Weather
Cool start — fast day potential, rain likely
A cool 49°F at the start line is ideal for fast times — expect to warm up quickly once you're moving. Light winds shouldn't be a major factor for pacing. Rain is likely — waterproof your phone and bib, and consider a disposable poncho for the corral. Moderate humidity at 69% is worth noting for effort level, especially in later miles.

Race Info
The Prince of Wales Island Half Marathon is an out-and-back run that starts and finishes at Craig High School on the Saturday of race weekend. It follows the first miles of the marathon course north along the Klawock Channel and through the village of Klawock, then continues toward the turnaround on the island's rain forest roads, with views of lakes, streams and muskeg. It turns back before the more mountainous middle section that the full marathon covers, so the climbing is gentler than the marathon's.
