Newport Marathon - Oregon Half Marathon
Race Day Weather
Comfortable temps, warming through the race
Mild 56°F temps at gun time mean comfortable early miles without overheating risk. Temperatures rising to 66°F through the course will gradually increase perceived effort in the second half. Light winds shouldn't be a major factor for pacing. Moderate humidity at 68% is worth noting for effort level, especially in later miles.

Race Info
The Newport Marathon's half marathon starts at Yaquina Bay State Park beside the historic lighthouse, loops through Newport's residential streets and drops under the Yaquina Bay Bridge to the bayfront. It then follows the Yaquina Bay estuary east, past the fishing fleet, shops and galleries, to a turnaround at mile 8.7 and returns along the same route. The course is flat apart from one short hill of about 40 feet just past mile 4, and it finishes in the Oregon Coast Bank parking lot about a mile from the start. Cool coastal air and bay views are typical for the first weekend of June.
