Mystery Mountain 12M
Race Day Weather
Cool start — fast day potential, big temp swing
A cool 46°F at the start line is ideal for fast times — expect to warm up quickly once you're moving. Temps will climb significantly to 65°F by later miles, so expect fading conditions as the race progresses. Light winds shouldn't be a major factor for pacing.

Race Info
The 12M is a trail race at Fort Mountain State Park in Chatsworth, Georgia, on the same Sunday morning as the marathon. It starts with a flat loop around the park lake, then climbs by the rocky, rooty Big Rock trail onto the single-track Gahuti trail, which runs cambered and rocky just below the summits of Cohutta and Fort Mountains. Runners make a narrow loop around the top of the mountain past the legendary rock wall, descend and come back to the lake by the other side of the Big Rock trail, and finish with another lap around the lake. The climbing continues on the way down, so the course never gives much rest.
