Leipzig Marathon
Race Day Weather
Cool start — fast day potential
A cool 46°F at the start line is ideal for fast times — expect to warm up quickly once you're moving. Temperatures rising to 56°F through the course will gradually increase perceived effort in the second half. Light winds shouldn't be a major factor for pacing.

Race Info
The Leipzig Marathon is an annual marathon held each April in Leipzig, Germany. The race starts and finishes near the Sportforum on the city's west side, with the course passing the New City Hall, the Gewandhaus, the Opera House and the Monument to the Battle of the Nations before a roughly 800-meter home stretch to the finish. First held in 1977, it hosted the East German national marathon championship in 1985, 1986, 1987 and 1990. The course record is 2:10:16, set by Kenya's Christopher Cheboiboch in 2004. The race is a Boston Marathon qualifier.
