Race Info
The Kyoto Marathon is held annually in February in Kyoto, Japan, starting at TAKEBISHI Stadium Kyoto in Nishikyogoku Athletic Park and finishing near Heian Jingu shrine. The course is certified by the Japan Association of Athletics Federations and accredited by World Athletics and the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races, passing seven UNESCO World Heritage sites including Tenryu-ji, Kinkaku-ji, and Ginkaku-ji temples along the Katsura and Kamo rivers. The event also includes a wheelchair race and a two-person Pair-Ekiden relay run alongside the marathon. Kyoto Marathon is a Boston Marathon qualifier.
