Race Info
The Girdwood Marathon is a trail marathon through the Girdwood Valley near Alaska's Alyeska Resort. It starts and finishes at the Alyeska Daylodge and links more than a dozen singletrack trails, including Winner Creek, the Iditarod Trail, and Bird-to-Gird, through temperate rainforest with a hand-tram river crossing along the way. It has run each October since at least 2019 as a fundraiser for the Girdwood Nordic Ski Club. Organizers warn it is not a beginner course: miles 22 to 24 are notoriously tough, and race day is usually wet.
