Race Info
The Freedom's Run Half Marathon starts and finishes in Shepherdstown, West Virginia, on the Saturday of race weekend. The route crosses the Potomac River to the C&O Canal towpath for three flat miles, then climbs Millers Sawmill Road into Antietam National Battlefield. Runners cover two miles of rolling grass paths with a view of Burnside Bridge before retracing the route down the hill and along the canal to finish at Ram Stadium. The course mixes road, crushed gravel and grass, and it is hilly rather than fast.
