Cedar City Half Marathon
Race Day Weather
Cool start, warming finish
Runners will face a temperature increase from 54°F at the start to 70°F by race end, with average humidity at 50%. A light crosswind in Mile 1 transitions to a tailwind in Miles 2-3, before returning to a crosswind from Miles 4-14. Given the warm finish and potential humidity, runners should consider starting conservatively and adjusting their pace as temperatures rise.

Race Info
The Cedar City Half Marathon runs down Cedar Canyon for its 17th year in 2026, one of the steepest closed-canyon courses in the country. The point-to-point route starts near Wood Ranch at about 8,400 feet and drops roughly 2,800 feet to the finish at Bicentennial Park Soccer Fields. Cedar Canyon closes to vehicle traffic for the race, and runners follow Coal Creek before joining Cedar City's trail system through Canyon Park for the final miles. An Adventure 5K runs alongside the half marathon the same morning. Source
