Race Info
The Willie McCool Memorial Half Marathon takes place each fall in Lubbock, Texas, starting and finishing at the Silent Wings Museum. West Texas Endurance organizes the event, which also includes 10K and 5K races on the same weekend. The race honors Willie McCool, a Coronado High School graduate who piloted the Space Shuttle Columbia, and proceeds benefit a scholarship in his name at the school. The 2025 edition was the 12th annual running, held September 27, 2025.
