Cool start, warming challenge ahead
Runners will face a temperature rise from 51°F at the start to a peak of 80°F, with winds from the SE at 8 mph. The average humidity is a comfortable 45%, but as temperatures climb, pacing adjustments will be crucial. Expect a tailwind from miles 1-3 and 11-12, but be prepared for a headwind from miles 13-16 and 22-27, making those segments particularly challenging.
This award-winning, Boston-Qualifying, course is considered one of the best courses in the country and is well known for being scenic and flat. Runners come from all over to experience this exhilarating run. The race starts along the Pacific Coast Highway and passes by the famous Huntington Beach pier. Source
