Run for the Elk 10K
Race Day Weather
Warm start, warming through the race
Starting at 66°F, heat will be a factor from the gun — go out conservative and stay on top of hydration. Temperatures rising to 77°F through the course will gradually increase perceived effort in the second half. Light winds shouldn't be a major factor for pacing. Moderate humidity at 68% is worth noting for effort level, especially in later miles.

Race Info
The Run for the Elk 10K runs 3.1 miles out along the West Creek Industrial Trail from the start at 3rd and Chestnut Streets in Emporium, Pennsylvania, then turns around and returns to the same finish line. It is an out-and-back on a flat, hard-packed crushed limestone rail trail, and the surface is smooth enough for road racing shoes. The route shares its trail with the half marathon and marathon.
