Quicksilver 50K
Race Day Weather
Comfortable temps, big temp swing, moderate wind
Mild 53°F temps at gun time mean comfortable early miles without overheating risk. Temps will climb significantly to 72°F by later miles, so expect fading conditions as the race progresses. Moderate winds around 18mph may affect pacing on open sections of the course. Moderate humidity at 70% is worth noting for effort level, especially in later miles.

Race Info
The Quicksilver 50K covers about 30 miles of fire road and single-track in Almaden Quicksilver County Park in San Jose, California, starting and finishing at the Hacienda entrance. The first loop climbs past the San Cristobal Mine and the Hidalgo Cemetery, then drops back to Hacienda by way of English Camp and the steep, rocky Deep Gulch Trail. The second half heads out to the McAbee entrance and up the long Mine Hill Trail climb above Guadalupe Reservoir, with about 6,000 feet of gain in all. It finishes on a 2-mile descent down Mine Hill Trail to Hacienda, on the same Saturday as the 100K.
