Nicosia Marathon
Race Day Weather
Cool start — fast day potential, warming through the race
A cool 49°F at the start line is ideal for fast times — expect to warm up quickly once you're moving. Temperatures rising to 60°F through the course will gradually increase perceived effort in the second half. Light winds shouldn't be a major factor for pacing. Moderate humidity at 71% is worth noting for effort level, especially in later miles.

Race Info
The Nicosia Marathon runs through the historic center of Cyprus's capital city. The marathon starts at Solomou Square and finishes at Eleftheria Square, passing the Nicosia Municipal Theatre, the Municipal Gardens, the Famagusta Gate and the Liberty Monument along the way, with a stretch through the Synergasias Street linear park built along a former railway line. The race was founded in 2010 by the Athanasios Ktorides Foundation to mark the 2,500th anniversary of the Battle of Marathon, and is an AIMS-accredited event. It has carried several title sponsors over the years; Bank of Cyprus took over sponsorship starting with the 2027 edition.
