Race Info
The Mount Desert Island Half Marathon starts at the marathon's halfway point in the village of Northeast Harbor and finishes alongside the marathon in Southwest Harbor. The route runs along Somes Sound, the only true fjord on the Eastern Seaboard, climbs to the interior end of the fjord near mile 5, then rises gradually through the village of Somesville before a downhill final mile to the finish. It follows the USATF-certified back half of the marathon course.
