McKirdy Micro Marathon: Breaking 3
Race Day Weather
Cool start, steady conditions
Runners will face a starting temperature of 39°F, rising to 47°F by race end. Winds will be from the SSW at 10 mph, with gusts up to 26 mph, but no rain is expected. The moderate humidity at 63% suggests a comfortable atmosphere, allowing for a steady pace without the need for drastic adjustments.
It’s estimated that less than 4% of marathoners who’ve ever run the daunting distance have broken 3 hours. We aim to bring that percentage just a bit higher. We invite you to join us and become one of those rare athletes!
Options are limited and proper support to run as fast as you are capable of is lacking in the vast majority of events around the country. Our event is the ONLY RACE in the country with a total “in-race” support concept in mind for all participating athletes! This will be a first time experience for MANY who participate but race directors James McKirdy, Sammy McClintock, and Heather McKirdy will walk you through every detail to ensure you have every opportunity to break 3.
Come race day, you’ll be ready! Source
