Linz Marathon
Race Day Weather
Cool start — fast day potential, warming through the race
A cool 47°F at the start line is ideal for fast times — expect to warm up quickly once you're moving. Temperatures rising to 59°F through the course will gradually increase perceived effort in the second half. Light winds shouldn't be a major factor for pacing.

Race Info
The Linz Marathon is an AIMS-certified road marathon held each spring in Linz, Austria. The course has only 18-23 meters of elevation difference across its length, among the flattest marathon routes in the country, and starts on the Voest freeway bridge over the Danube before finishing at Linz Hauptplatz. It doubles as the Austrian Marathon National Championship. The mens course record is 2:06:13, set by Fikre Bekele of Ethiopia in 2022; the womens record is 2:26:01, set by Jackline Chepngeno in 2026, after the prior record holder was disqualified for a doping violation.
