The Kilgore Half Marathon
Race Day Weather
Cold start — layer up, warming through the race
Runners will start in chilly 37°F conditions — dress in layers for the corral and plan to shed early. Temperatures rising to 51°F through the course will gradually increase perceived effort in the second half. Light winds shouldn't be a major factor for pacing. Moderate humidity at 68% is worth noting for effort level, especially in later miles.

Race Info
The Kilgore Half Marathon and 10K runs every Christmas Eve in south Oklahoma City, starting at 6:30 AM near Earlywine Park. The tradition began in 2009 when a deployed service member ran a half marathon overseas rather than miss the holiday at home; friends turned it into a group run the following year with 24 participants. Registration is free and optional, and runners are asked to bring a food dish to share. The race is also known locally as the Run for the Deployed and honors service members stationed away from home.
