The Humboldt Redwoods Half Marathon is a 13.1-mile out-and-back on paved roads through Humboldt Redwoods State Park. It starts and finishes at the Dyerville Bridge staging area and follows the Avenue of the Giants south past Weott and Burlington to a turnaround before returning the same way. Old-growth redwoods, some 300 feet tall, line the road and keep the morning cool, though the canopy can block GPS signal on running watches. The course is USATF-certified.
