Race Info

Howard's Half Marathon/5K Run Festival starts and finishes near the Canal Place stage in downtown Cumberland, Maryland, run as an out-and-back along the Great Allegheny Passage rail trail. The race began in 2015 as a fundraiser for the Allegany County Animal Shelter and ran five straight years before a four-year pandemic hiatus. It returned in 2024 as a 25K and 5K, then settled into its current half marathon and 5K format in 2025. All entry fees go to the shelter.
