Groundhog Day Half Marathon
Race Day Weather
Cold start — layer up
Runners will start in chilly 20°F conditions — dress in layers for the corral and plan to shed early. Temperatures rising to 29°F through the course will gradually increase perceived effort in the second half. Light winds shouldn't be a major factor for pacing. Moderate humidity at 73% is worth noting for effort level, especially in later miles.

Race Info
The Groundhog Day half marathon is six laps of a certified, paved 2.18-mile loop at The Secchia Meadows in Walker, just outside Grand Rapids, Michigan. It runs on the Saturday of race weekend in early February, so the loop is usually under snow, and passing the start and finish area every lap fits the movie the race is named for. The course is nearly flat, with about 7 meters between its lowest and highest points.
