Flagstaff Marathon
Race Day Weather
Cool start — fast day potential, big temp swing, moderate wind
A cool 43°F at the start line is ideal for fast times — expect to warm up quickly once you're moving. Temps will climb significantly to 69°F by later miles, so expect fading conditions as the race progresses. Moderate winds around 13 mph may affect pacing on open sections of the course.
Known as the “The Coolest Marathon in Arizona,” The Flagstaff Marathon is a completely off-road course in the Coconino National Forest. At 8,000+ ft. elevation, it is known as one of the most challenging courses in the country, with 1,200 feet of climbing for the half marathon and 2,400 for the full, and composed entirely of single and double track trails.
