Cool start, warming trend

Runners will face a temperature rise from 50°F at the start to a peak of 70°F, necessitating conservative pacing early on. Winds will vary, with crosswinds affecting segments from Miles 1-2, and headwinds in critical areas like Mile 3 and 9. A tailwind will provide relief from Mile 6 to 8 and again from 18 to 27, allowing for faster pacing during those stretches. Hydration will be essential as humidity hovers around 48%.

Strawberry aid station was the highlight of the race!

The crowd support in the communities of the race is amazing and this is just one example of it. Seriously, so good. The best part about something being really painful is that everything afterwards feels amazing. A volunteer at the peak had sliced strawberries. Let me tell you something about me: I don’t mind eating gels. I don’t mind drinking Tailwind or Skratch. I know a lot of people love real food, and that’s awesome, but I’ve never been the type to need ‘real food.’
