The Jackson River Scenic Trail Marathon follows a former Chesapeake and Ohio Railway bed in Covington, Virginia, on a crushed-gravel surface that is mostly flat with a few gentle hills. The marathon is a Boston Marathon qualifier. Half marathon, 10K, and 5K options start at the same place, the Intervale Trailhead, in staggered waves after the marathon. Source
