Back Your Badge 5K
Race Day Weather
Warm start, high humidity
A warm 73°F start means heat management is critical — consider dialing back your goal pace by 10-20 sec/mi. Temperatures rising to 83°F through the course will gradually increase perceived effort in the second half. Light winds shouldn't be a major factor for pacing. High humidity (84%) will make it harder to cool down through sweat — increase fluid intake accordingly.

Race Info
The Back Your Badge 5K starts at the Richard A. Carlucci Recreation and Aquatic Center in Plainfield, Indiana and heads west before turning south to Historic US 40. It runs about three-quarters of a mile through downtown Plainfield, then passes through Franklin Park and crosses an old iron bridge onto the paved, tree-lined Vandalia Trail. The trail leads back to the recreation center finish on a course that is mostly flat with some rolling hills.
