Race Info

The Athens Half Marathon starts in uptown Athens at South College and East Union streets beside Ohio University's College Green. After a mile and a half on city streets, runners join the paved Hockhocking Adena Bikeway and follow it northwest to a turnaround just past the 6-mile mark. The course is an out and back that stays flat and fast, with no traffic on the path apart from several road crossings. It finishes with about half a lap on the Ohio University track at Pruitt Field.
