Runners will face a temperature rise from 62°F at the start to 79°F by the finish, with high humidity averaging 82%. A light wind from 207° at 10 mph will provide some relief. It is advisable for runners to pace conservatively and increase hydration frequency as the heat intensifies.

All 26.2 miles of the marathon will be run within the borders of William B. Umstead State Park, a five-thousand-acre tract of dense woods, lakes, streams, hills. The course consists of a mix of technical single-track, and fine gravel bridle trails. The route is scenic and hilly. Runners will enjoy well stocked aid stations, amazing volunteers, and food at the finish. All runners will receive a t-shirt and a pint glass finishers award. Top 15 male and female finishers receive a unique handcrafted prize All proceeds benefit the Umstead State Park and Carolina and the Godiva Track Club. Source
