Warm start, adjust pace early
Runners will face temperatures starting at 64°F and rising to 79°F. With humidity at 77% and a steady wind from the SW at 16 mph, it's crucial to adjust pacing early. Staying hydrated will be essential, and conservative pacing is advised to combat the heat and humidity as the race progresses.

All 26.2 miles of the marathon will be run within the borders of William B. Umstead State Park, a five-thousand-acre tract of dense woods, lakes, streams, hills. The course consists of a mix of technical single-track, and fine gravel bridle trails. The route is scenic and hilly. Runners will enjoy well stocked aid stations, amazing volunteers, and food at the finish. All runners will receive a t-shirt and a pint glass finishers award. Top 15 male and female finishers receive a unique handcrafted prize All proceeds benefit the Umstead State Park and Carolina and the Godiva Track Club. Source
