About the Totem to Totem Half Marathon
The Half Marathon is an out-and-back run on the Haida Gwaii highway that starts and finishes at the Haida Heritage Centre at Second Beach in Skidegate. Runners head north through Skidegate village, past the totem pole raised in 2017 and the cemetery, then out along Highway 16 to Balance Rock. The turnaround is at the Miller Creek water station, and runners return along the water side of the highway to the finish at the Heritage Centre. The half shares its start with the marathon on the Saturday of Skidegate Days weekend.
